Faith ~ Numbers 13:30, 1 Corinthians 12:9

There’s nothing blind about faith.  The faith-gifted can clearly see what the rest of us often have in our own blind spots.

People who are spiritually gifted in faith believe the truth of God’s written and revealed word, and ‘get into action’ moving in alignment with God’s promises.

Most of us have to work to overcome those things that bind and hinder us from acting in faith:  mainly fear, flesh and worry.  It’s not that those with the gift of faith never have to overcome challenges in their belief:  they just overcome these more readily with the supernatural empowerment of the Holy Spirit.  They make the faith walk all look pretty easy.

Christians who are God-graced in faith help the rest of the Body of Christ believe for the impossible, and to stay encouraged even in the smaller areas of our everyday lives.  Without the believers who have this gift, the church would remain stagnant.

If you see that the Body and individual believers would benefit from an exponential increase in faith, make sure that you’re not sitting on an extra portion of your own faith, or that you haven’t left your spiritual gift of faith in the back-bin storage area of your life.  Get it out and fan the flame of God’s gift! Subject: Exhortation

Exhortation ~ Romans 12:8

“I am an awesome Spirit being with infinite potential!”

~ Bishop Jack Wallace, Detroit World Outreach

At my home church, we used to confess this affirmation at every single service.  I can physically feel the shift in my body when I think of how true that is for believers.

Only a man who loved God and love people could come up with such a confession.  Bishop Jack was a true exhorter.  Screaming, crying, sweating and spitting, he would beg us to accept the love that God offered through His word, His Son, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit.  For every message he preached that would admonish us to turn from sin, Bishop would preach 10 others to remind us that God loves us unconditionally, and that He has given us everything we need.

Intuitively, Bishop Jack knew that a great majority of his congregants had come to his church as new believers, or as believers from other ministries where we had been hurt.  We were living in fear of an angry God, with little faith that we could ever ‘get to heaven.’  His passion was to have us move past that, and to truly take our rest in the love of the Lord.

Bishop lived a live completely poured out to glorify God and to strengthen us.  He has gone home to be with the Lord, but he leaves behind a great legacy of loving encouragement.

Others who are truly gifted exhorters leave the same indelible mark on those they impact in their ministry.  These folks go beyond the kind word and the genuine support:  they’ve got encouragement and victory all over them!  You will find them lovingly inspiring others to Kingdom-impacting action, and rejoicing with others in their victories.  Just being around them and hearing what they have to say about the great possibilities for life and liberty in Christ is enough to make you really believe that you are, indeed, an awesome spirit being who has infinite potential.

Subject: Evangelist

Evangelist ~ Ephesians 4:11; 2 Timothy 4:5

The grocery store.  The opera.  The emergency room.   These are the places of the last evangelistic sightings.

Why?  Because evangelists have a burden to share the gospel message with unbelievers, wherever they are.   They know that another opportunity to share the gospel may not come for that person.  They’re not shy, and waiting for a ‘convenient’ time to witness is not on their radar.

Speaking of radar, evangelists hone onto unbelievers like heat-seeking missiles.  Their motive is not violence, though; they have love in their hearts and a passion to win people to Christ.

Evangelists have an ability to see which approaches will work best for specific people.  Because of God’s anointing, evangelists are highly-successful soul winners.

Spiritually-gifted evangelists are not afraid of being rejected when witnessing.  This is not because of their renowned statistics of salvation success (although that success is a key mark of the gift).  They don’t fear because they know their job, and they know that the Lord is the true Harvester.

If you’re looking for quiet and privacy when you go out, your evangelist friend is NOT the person to take with you!  But, don’t leave her behind.  If you want to fulfill the Great Commission in your daily life, your evangelist friends are the ones to roll with for sure. Evangelist ~ Ephesians 4:11; 2 Timothy 4:5

The grocery store.  The opera.  The emergency room.   These are the places of the last evangelistic sightings.

Why?  Because evangelists have a burden to share the gospel message with unbelievers, wherever they are.   They know that another opportunity to share the gospel may not come for that person.  They’re not shy, and waiting for a ‘convenient’ time to witness is not on their radar.

Speaking of radar, evangelists hone onto unbelievers like heat-seeking missiles.  Their motive is not violence, though; they have love in their hearts and a passion to win people to Christ.

Evangelists have an ability to see which approaches will work best for specific people.  Because of God’s anointing, evangelists are highly-successful soul winners.

Spiritually-gifted evangelists are not afraid of being rejected when witnessing.  This is not because of their renowned statistics of salvation success (although that success is a key mark of the gift).  They don’t fear because they know their job, and they know that the Lord is the true Harvester.

If you’re looking for quiet and privacy when you go out, your evangelist friend is NOT the person to take with you!  But, don’t leave her behind.  If you want to fulfill the Great Commission in your daily life, your evangelist friends are the ones to roll with for sure.
